It has established a development positioning of cultivating applied talents for the film, animation, and game industries in Nanjing and the Yangtze River Delta region, and adheres to the development path of "distinctive development and differentiated positioning".
The Animation College has three majors: Animation, Visual Communication Design, and Digital Media Art. The animation major was established in 1997 and was approved as a national first-class specialty construction program in 2021; The Visual Communication Design (Decoration) major was established in 1988.
It is the supporting major of Jiangsu Province key construction discipline "Design" and Jiangsu Province key major category "Art and Design"; The Digital Media Art Department was established in 2014 and was approved as a Nanjing City first-class specialty in 2021.
